All things Technology – Posts to save for when you need them

Author: Andres Sarmiento

Hi there, just a bit about myself, I have been in the IT business for the last 10 Years. Started my way up as a Help Desk Technician, studied really hard since then and moved up a bit to a Jr. Network Administrator to a Sr. Network Administrator. Few years later started with this obsession to star working for a IT services company and for the last 3 years I have worked for couple Cisco IT Resellers, and now I work for Cisco as a contractor (Red Badge), for the Advanced Services Team. I have learned from basic network design to high scale network designs, I started on the networking side, with a bit of Security, some Wireless and Data center technologies. However my main focus has always been Voice/UC/Collaboration. I think that these technologies are cool to implement and very challenging from time to time, which makes them very enjoyable. The main idea of this blog is to be able to post useful information that someone like me on the field can use to their advantage, without having to spend too much time trying to figure stuff up.

SD-WAN Terminology (SD- WAN Series: P2)

SD-WAN is not a new concept that is becoming trendy right now, but is actually something that has been there for a while! (Remember the iWAN days?) – Also there will not be something new or exciting that you maybe have not seen before. My idea is to keep analyzing the technology and off course […]

Consuming the “Cloud” – How are you doing it?

Before leaving my previous company there was an interesting trend in the market and industry I have worked for the past few years, and that is that multiple verticals out there are considering moving their traditional premises workloads to the cloud. That is a beautiful thing, but from my standpoint as an Engineer/Architect, I’m thinking […]

The Anatomy of a Call Recording Service – Cisco Unified Communications Manager

Call recording is an interesting topic for me and it’s sometimes hard to understand, but It’s easy when you break it down to get what it is all about. My experience varies from different vendors and most of it comes to the same place, at least when preparing CUCM for Recording services. This post is […]
